In La Tonda the varietal notes of cherries, plums and red fruit are accompanied by a variety of delicate spices, such as nutmeg, white and pink pepper refined by spring-like hints of rose petals and violets.

Le Capezzine: Sangiovese
La Tonda, which in Italian means the “round one”, gives voice to a particular vineyard plot of Le Capezzine farm, that was planted as an experiment in 1990 to see how vine-training and plant density affect the grape quality. The results of the experiment showed that a high density of plants improved the quality of the grapes, as it forced the vines to dig deeper and get more nutrients from the soil.
