La Selva: Chardonnay
With the 2014 vintage Il Marzocco becomes an IGT wine. The change of appellation from Cortona DOC to Toscana IGT is due to Avignonesi buying the Lodola cellar and moving our vinification and ageing to this estate, which lies outside of the Cortona DOC area. For this reason we have had to change the appellation of the wine to Toscana IGT, but the origin of the grapes used in Il Marzocco is still the same as is the production and style of the wine.
Aromas of vanilla and butterscotch signal high-quality oak, allowing the apple and melon flavors to shine through. Vibrant and lingering on the fresh, fruit- and spice-tinged aftertaste. Drink now through 2020. -- BS
